Shirley Community Nursery & Primary School Case Study

Shirley Community Nursery & Primary School
Requirements:

Shirley Community Nursery & Primary School required a suite of information booklets, prospectus and information pack folders folders using the school colour, a logo that had been designed by pupils at the school and photographs taken of the school and its pupils by a professional photographer.

What we did:

After a briefing with the board of governors of the school and the submission of some rough sketches and typeface suggestions, our designers produced an agreed style guide for the school information booklet.

Once the final proofs were submitted for the information booklet work began on the prospectus. This was more complicated as it was to contain photographs of the children, most of whom had been given special permission by parents and guardians to appear in the prospectus. The proofs needed checking to ensure that no students who were not permitted to appear in the brochure had wandered into shot. To make things more complicated, proofs needed to be delivered securely by hand so that the images could not be intercepted while we were still uncertain that those in the pictures were allowed to be there.

Once the layout for this and the information pack folders were approved the prospectus was printed on our digital press and saddle stitched on our booklet maker and the folders were printed using a litho press and die cut, folded and glued. Both jobs were delivered a week from approval.
